Perspective drawing:
I Developed art making skills: This is a drawing of a photo I took in Italy. I wish I would have picked one section of the city to draw instead of this whole scene. This is because if i was only doing a small section, I could focus more on shading and making the piece look better. I did however learn how to shade better than before and am continuing to get better. I Create original art: I took this photo with my own perspective according to what looked interesting to me. I liked how you can see the town from far away but you can also view the ocean and the hills from this point of view. There is also a lot of color in the town and I love using a lot of color. I can communicate through my work: This photo expresses my love of travel and I picked it because it is one beautiful place on earth that is worth visiting. |

Water ColorI developed art making skills: I have never done water color before but I loved it. I learned how to mix colors together and have the different shades of yellow and orange. I learned how to make the texture on the sunflower with salt.
I create original art: I decided to do the sunflower very close up and have the petals have some different colors to add effect. I can communicate through my work: I was able to show my very close perspective of the sunflower. I also tried to use water color pencils to show some more color and shading. in progress

I developed art making skills: I never had used clay before this nut had a lot of fun. I learned craftsmanship but could still use some practice. i wish i would have taken more time on certain objects.
I created original art: We all crafted these by ourselves and just start with a sheet of wet clay. We used tools to mold our clay.
i can communicate through my work: With this piece we all had to do foods which was perfect for me because ihop is my life and i was inspired to do that for my clay food :)

Piece Project
This is one piece of a much larger famous photo. It was done with acrylic paint.
Franz Marc Project

I developed art making skills: I developed art making skills a lot in this project. It was my first time using acrylic paint and actually liked it a lot more than water color. It took me a while to get used to it because with watercolor you can blend colors as you continue to paint on the actual canvas. With acrylic it was different because it dried much quicker. After i got used to it i decided i like it more, since whenever i messed up a little i could easy just paint right over it. Also i see the colors as much more vibrant than with watercolor paint which looks watered down to me. I also learned a lot about shading in this project.
I created original art: Even though this project was meant to be inspired by a certain artist, mine being Franz Marc, i made it my own by adding the sunset in the back and using an animal that he never painted.
I can communicate through my work: Since Franz Marc was known for expressionism, which is showing emotion through his paintings, it was easy to communicate through my work. I tried to show expression of bravery and anger though the fox.

Printmaking
I developed art making skills: I've never done printmaking before but now it's one of my favorites. It was a little hard to get the hang of, especially with all the lines in the pyramid, but after that part was over it was pretty easy. I messed up a little bit with the ground but the color ended up looking ok anyways. I love to do printmaking again with a harder design.
I created original art: I made this my own by not coping an exact picture. I instead looked at several different pictures of the pyramids and made a design of my own. I also made it unique with the sky. That ended up being my favorite part of the piece. I was originally going to make the sky blue and the clouds pink but I decided it would look better the opposite way. I like how the shape of my clouds look also.
I take risks: since I never did printmaking before I was nervous to see what was going to happen. I didn't know how the clouds would show up and I was scared that the bricks wouldn't show. I tried my hardest not to let paint leak into the cut out parts.

EXAM QUESTION
How I critique artwork has improved vastly over the course of this semester. towards the beginning I didn't understand the concept of art critique, but instead was just listing what the piece was. I never suggested things I could have changed for next time, or why I thought the piece was successful or not. I now take my time and exam the piece before I critique it, to really understand what went wrong or right. I understand all the components of art such as; color, form, line, shape, space, texture, and value, and use them to critique. I now list what I can change to make it a better project even if I thought I did good overall. I feel like since my critique has improved, so has my art. I realize what I need to fix, and I do. When I realized that I didn't have any texture or color or value, I then add plenty of it to my next piece. When we critiqued each other's projects it helped me to improve also. Seeing it from a different point of view can really help sometimes.
My art had improved a lot during this semester. I started out not having much texture or good shading in my work but i've learned a little more about doing it correctly. One example of how i've improved with shading would be my Franz Marc piece compared to my very first drawing. The shading I used in the mountains of the Franz Marc piece, I think, added a lot to the painting. I also have learned what colors compliment each other and what looks good together. In my mixed media I learned how to place shapes and lines to look good with each other. In my first few painting I had little texture but in this one I have learned how to put plenty of it. I really ended up loving my mixed media, our last project, with all of the texture I added. I felt like I made it unique and it doesn't look like anything i've ever done before. I liked how I could make it look random, even though each piece was specifically placed to look pleasing to the eye. When we framed part of it, it showed me how much detail was in every little part and I felt like it made completely different pictures. There's is a lot of characteristics in my mixed media that kinda jump out at you but still work well with the other objects in the piece.
